Hi Everyone,

Our message boards seem to be a great success so I wanted to give people another place to read all about hoarding. Sometimes the blog will be informational while other times it will be about an experience I have had on a job, on the phone or on location for A&E's "Hoarders". Please don't be offended as sometimes the stories will be funny. This is just a place where I can share my experiences with others that are affected one way or another by hoarding.

Today is Monday and I am in the office, fresh off a 3 day vacation in the Sierra Nevadas. It was hard to come back, but the phones are ringing and people need help. I am blessed to be able to provide a service that helps people across the nation, and even many other countries. We are finishing up a hoarding house today in San Diego County where 200 plus birds once lived and unfortunately most of them died. The house is one of the worst we have seen in almost 18 years. I am very fortunate to have a crew of professionals that share the same belief as I do that no matter how bad the situation, we are here to make it better. We will spend 4 days in this home and by the end, the clutter will be gone, the home treated and bacteria destroyed and hopefully this person will have a fresh start where they can rebuild and start new.

For those of you that are too scared to make the call for help, don't be. This disorder is something that will continue to grow, compounding itself into a bigger montster each and every day. The anxiety and fear you have built up inside you is not nearly what you have created it to be. There is help out there, understanding and compassionate help. Just realize that in just a few days you can be living a better life. We have listed many companies on this site that can get you through this, but you have to get up the courage to reach out to them. Hoarding is a symptom of one or more underlying disorders but they can be managed. Get professional help and you truly can find a way out. Join our support group on this site as it is a great first step and is completely anonymous. Give change a try, it just might stick :)

I will update you every few days. Be sure to comment if you want certain topics covered in the blog. I will provide as much information as possible if you are looking for help. Together we can get you through this!
