Hello, my name is Layla Marin, Im 15 years old and looking for help. I live at home with my mother and 2 siblings, also 5 dogs. I had recently lost my father and he was a hoarder!! Our back yard is horrible. My mom doesnt like to go back there and neither do I. I was planning on trying to clean it up and making an art studio in the garage. But that plan went down the drain when I found out that we are going to move houses. Anyway, There is so much stuff in the garage that you can barely walk in. also the back patio is full of stuff. My mother and I were out there trying to clean it up but we didnt even do half. There is stuff in front and the back of the garage. We have family coming over and going to try to get rid of some of the stuff. I have a feeling that we cant do it on our own. We really need help. please contact me ASAP.

Jennifer Angulo

Hello my names Jennifer Angulo and I live at home with my parents and 3 other siblings in a small 3 bedroom home in Yakima,WA. Over time my parents have accumaleted a mess in and outside of our. Every single corner is filled with things. When I was young our house was so neat and clean: since my dad started working as a truck driving he had no time to finish his hobby of fixing cars and selling them. Now we have a destroyed long rv sitting in the back next to a destroyed semi truck and 5 non ugly running cars taking over our yard: we also hundreds of parts wether they're car parts; refrigerator parks, tv bikes everything you can imagine. Our yard looks like a junk yard now and it's incredibly sad. My dads even tried to build 3 small not completed garages next to our small garage that was built with the house: we have another smaller rv on the side of the house and on the other side tons of tires and bikes. Now that's only the outsides problem the inside is just packed with things my parents can't seem to throw. The just try and hide everything but now there's so much there's no space to hide all the mess: my brothers schizophrenic and he doesn't understand and isn't very helpful. My dad works so much he has no time to do much around and my mother isn't able to even lift anything 10 or more pounds. We need help asap

Sophia Bigos
Posted: 31 January 2016 - 10:06 AM
Hello,
My name is Sophia and I'm looking for help and an intervention for my mother, Angela. She has recently had her husband incarcerated in federal prison, lost her home to foreclosure, her son passed away unexpectedly in September, and last month her mother died. She has suffered great loss throughout her life and has never learned a healthy way to cope. I have let my mother move into my rental property because she had no where else to go, but now she has completely filled a 3 bedroom 2 bath 2 car garage home with stuff. She feels attacked when someone brings up her living conditions and sees no error in her ways. Everything has a sentimental value to her; to include trash.
I know my mother has a serious mental condition and is in desperate need of help. I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. I love my mother dearly and want her to get help, but I'm also a landlord that can't afford the long term damage her hoarding can do to my property. My family NEEDS a solution! She give so much of her self to others, but she doesn't know how to help herself. I truly believe she is letting her need for things and the desire to live in the past destroy her future happiness. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I need help.In 2012 and 2013, I had my mother and brother to pass away. They each had their own household in a house they treated as a duplex. Anyway, I became the sole heir to their property. A few days before my brother passed away, the house was broken into and within 3 weeks, it was broken into 2 more times with some expensive tools stolen. I panicked and had a small army come to the house with boxes that literally had everything they owned dumped into boxes and taken to my house where they were stacked up. The next year, we worked on remodeling the house to sell it. Then trying to take a breather and other tragedy struck with a sister passing away in 2014. Then I had another brother to almost died in 2015. In addition, other close family members passed away during this time. So nothing was done. Prior to 2012, we took in all kinds of furniture and knick knacks from family members because they thought we had a big enough house and "needed" stuff. Unfortunately, we didn't know how to say no. Emotionally, I'm ready to get rid of this stuff. Also, I don't want my children to have to deal with all of this stuff after I pass away. I want a calm and relaxing home that I can enjoy for the rest of my life.

Please help me,
My elderly parents are burying themselves alive. My mother recently had to go to a physical therapy rehabilitation center because of health issues. I spoke with a social worker there about the hoarding and mice infestation issues at my parents house. They sent someone to access the situation. My dad was told if the fire or health department were involved they would give them either a condemned or eviction order. The house is a fire and health hazard. We were told they will not let my mother come home unless this problem is addressed. I don't want my parents to become homeless. I have nowhere to bring them to live. I am currently living with them. I can't clean this up alone. My siblings are deceased and there is only me. I can't do this alone. We can't afford a professional company. I don't know what else to do. I AM DESPERATE. PLEASE HELP.

I suffered from too much clutter for over a decade but always thought I was able to keep everything under control. I worked for a company that required I traveled a lot so I was often away from home and staying in hotels etc so I wasnt as close to the problem. a few years ago I sustained several injuries in an auto accident and was unable to continue working. At first i thought I would be able to tackle some of my clutter issues while recovering but have realized that now more than ever I am in a serious situation that has gone beyond my control since my accident. I am now admitting to myself that this is a mental issue that far exceeds my ability to control it and I am afraid that is will only continue to get worse in old age. I am in my early fifties now and have no one in my life to help or support me through this.

Hi,
I am looking for help for my parents.my mom has became bed ridden and I think because of my dad's hoarding problem. You can't walk no where in the house except a path.I came up to try to get the outside of house cleaned up. Which I made progress, still needs more done.I think she is depressed, and I know it can be fixed, I live 6 1/2 hours away,i was going to suggest a storage unit, but that wouldn't fix his problem of buying and refilling the house. I'm the only kid, and living so far away I need help. I took photos of upstairs rooms, downstairs is ALOT worse. Pleases give me ideas or something, both of them need help.

Need help and have nowhere to turn.
My mother has been hoarding for years. Her home is filled with junk and now she is disabled. She can't move around in her home and the ceiling above the kitchen caved in. She keeps falling and stubbornly won't leave the home. My dad died in September '14 and I am her ONLY living relative. There's no other support to assist that I know of to correct this monumental problem. I have moved near her to try to help, but I don't even know where to begin.
She has no nearby friends who can help her. I don't even think they know to what horrible extent of bad conditions she is living. She has very little money now, living off of my dead fathers social security only. I have a sick wife at home who can't work right now and I am financially strapped with no extra funds to help my mom's situation. Where and how to I begin to fix this?

Hi Lavonne :)
My suggestion is that you consult with a counselor/therapist for you, yourself.
They could help you figure out what is best for you.
I too live with a hoarding man who refuses to change.
Rather than me moving out I chose to take a stand.
I cleared and cleaned all areas inside the house except his bedroom and refuse to allow any clutter in my cleared areas.
Same with one small section out in front of the house where I keep a lovely garden oasis area.
This way I have a functional home and a garden area I enjoy.
Even though half an acre, 4 car/2 story garage, a 3 car carport and his bedroom are severely hoarded and causing insect/rodent/snake infestations, structural damage along with fire and safety issues.

Good luck and best wishes, Tillie

Help!!! My husbands hoarding is destroying our marriage. Im so tired of holding on and forcing myself to live like this. I have never been a clutter junkie and I have OCD really bad and it is the number one reason I want a divorce right now. My husband hoards everything from antiques, automobile, motorcycles, clothes and receipts. It is very bad. I've pleaded numerous times i cant even count on my fingers anymore. I have filed for divorce just to voluntarily dimiss it because he promised he would change. The so-called change only lasted about a week he would sell things on websites but after those two weeks he was back to buying more and more junk! He's had storage units, a backyard shed, closets, beds. floors and even the cars flooded with his junk. He gets mad when i question him about bringing another item home which he does every week. I can not take anymore. He is a good person but his hoarding comes before his own kids and family. The kids stay sick all the time with allergies and wheezing. He does not know how to clean yet every time I clean he just messes everything right back up by cluttering every corner with junk. This has affected out sexual life because i refuse to have sexual relations with him because im always angry with him because of all the junk he keeps bringing to our home. I don't know what else to do. I am on my last straw and am ready to move out and file for divorce. Please help, any advice will do

Hi my name is sophie and i want to help my dad who is a hoarder!! Every day my dad brings back some kind of revolutionary treasure that is really just an old set of scales or extra buckets. One bucket is enough not over 100 !! My mum wants to tidy up ready to sell so she can retire somewhere peaceful after serious heart surgery but it is impossible to get anywhere when within a week the space has filled up again. It looks like a junk yard. We also have a field which is slowly filling up. It seems like an impossible task and i think its time we found some help or else they will both sit in this mess till the end.
Please help !!!

Hello.. Iam looking for help with my dad's hoarding ..the problem is...we(my brother and I ) have been trying to get him out of the spot he's in for soooo many yrs.But he secluded himself back in the woods without anyone around and he's now 73 yrs old.

The problem is he fell a couple of yrs ago bc of all the clutter and mess at his trailer out in Turkey Creek, LA. And then soon after this fall.. he later had a stroke. So now he is in nursing hm in Pine prairie and might soon be on hospice. My brother and I also live in 2 seperate states which made/makes it EXTREMELY hard to try to help my dad with his problem.

SO now my brother and I are trying to get bck to his trailer in turkey creek to clear off/out his EXTEMELY clutttered and unliveable trailer(there's sooo much mold its unfathomable) and on his lot he also has like 11 diff cars that dnt run in his yard(wth junk loaded in them as well), a small bus on his lot(junk in it also), 2 boats, atv vehicle, and a camper van as well.

ALL of this is completly overwhelming for my brother and I plus we now have to go deal with my sick father whom we have no idea how much longer he has to live.(due to his stroke he cannot walk and is now having trouble eating and speaking very well.
SO relly no telling how much longer he has with us.We/he needs help financially and physically dealing wth what we have to go clean up for him.

My brother lives in NC and I live in Pasadena,ca.
Please tell me if you have any ideas or help with a clean up solution.WE are trying to arrange flights now but duno if I can afford the pricey ticket because of the late notice to come from LA to Pine Prairie, LA

Thanks so much!!

Hello, I am the daughter of a hoarder. My mother has been a hoarder for about 20 yrs. Her 3 bedroom/2bathroom home is consumed with stuff from the floor to the ceiling. Her hoarding has projected outside to fill a huge barn, a car port, and about 5 other double car sized storage buildings in the yard. There are path ways thru the home which I myself struggle to get through. The home has broken items like the washing machine, refrigerator, a repaired ceiling that all need to be replaced but you couldn't get the old out to get the new in. My parents are nearing their late 60's and I fear for them if they ever needed medical help in the home or if the house caught fire they'd be burned alive. I know my parents would have it so much easier if my mom could get her problem under control. I had contacted Hoarders a few yrs back and they wanted my mom for a show but after I chatted with them about it and I questioned my mom, I backed out. Pls, pls, pls if you are serious about helping... consider my mom.

My house is atrocious. I have lost my daughter to the state because of the condition of my house. I can't afford to have someone to clean it out but unless I do I can't get my daughter back. I have mice galore and they are infecting my whole house and eating all my food. They are chewing through the wires in my house to my refrigerator and now it doesn't work either. My central air doesn't work and it is too hot to try to do anything in my house. My house should be worth around 300,000 but now it is worth maybe 80-100,000 because of what I have let happen to it. I need help so badly.

I am writing as the wife of the man who has inherited property from his father. Approximately 90% of the property is covered in Hoarding. Approximates: 500 Tires, 20 Large mounds of wood, 4 hazardous structures once homes filled with stuff, many many piles of trash, mounds of sawdust, cars. My husband and I have no idea were to begin. We have cleaned out two of the cars and burnt some things. There was also a large amount of stuff in someone else's home that we recovered and cleaned out. This someone else recently called and said he found more. Its been slow going and Hard on my husband because he feels like this is someone else's stuff and he shouldn't be messing with it, and it also has memories. I feel like we have made a lot of progress though, however this project is to large for both of us to do alone.

Help in anyway is appreciated.

I have a neighbor that is an extreme hoarder. Recently I observed a few dozen large rats coming in and out of her home through the siding and burrows. Rats are large. All of her windows are covered with sheets or newspaper. Her three cars are completely full. She has many cats and dogs inside the house and four outside all year round. She needs help. Located in New Middletown, Ohio.

Situation in homestead Florida home with worst hoarding case that I have ever seen. Please contact me directly for photos and video. There are actually two homes. One in Hialeah and the larger home in homestead. I would like this disorder to gain greater recognition and compassion.

Would like tv show to help my mother out
Posted: 09 January 2014 - 02:28 PM

Hi my name is Kimberly
I'm writing to see if there is anyway that my mother can get help . She is 53 years old and is currently going to dialysis n has kidney failure she has 3 dogs whom she won't let go of nor wants to put them outside, the home is infested with roaches n mices. She also has the habit to pile up so many papers that are unneeded from maybe even years back..my family n myself have tried helping her in trying to clean out the home by throwing unnecessary things like papers n clothing even boxes full of things but she's seems to stop us from throwing them away .I don't know how else to help her the house is getting worse with all the piling up if things n mices running around n roaches getting on the food n everywhere else please help us out we are afraid of her getting more sick of the contamination!
